Abstract

An emergency alarm installation includes at least two fluid-tight enclosures (3) filled with a fluid, the pressure of which increases in case of an emergency happening in its vicinity, typically in case of a fire, the heat of which causes an increase in pressure within the enclosures. The enclosures (3) are connected to respective bellows (23), (23') operable by the common armature (24) of electromechanical transducers (25), (25') which receive electric checking pulses for causing abrupt variations in pressure in the enclosures for purposes of checking the proper operation of the installation. Provision is made for detecting a relatively abrupt increase in pressure to provide one type of fire alarm, a rise in pressure beyond a certain maximum value to provide another type of fire alarm and a possible disappearance of pressure, due, for example, to a leak, in order to provide a technical alarm. In this manner, the installation continuously checks its own proper operating condition. <IMAGE>
