Abstract

A hydraulic damper comprises a vertical cylinder, a piston rod having a piston working in the cylinder and projecting out of the cylinder, and a rod guide 14 disposed in the upper end of the cylinder for slidably guiding the piston rod 13. A dish-like shaped member 18, having a central opening through which the piston rod freely passes, is mounted on the upper end of the cylinder above the rod guide, and a protecting member 19 having a bore slidably engaged by the piston rod is provided to cooperate with the dish-like shaped member for closing the space formed between the through opening and the piston rod. <IMAGE>
