Abstract

A lock for a sliding door comprises an elongate body 10, 11 for fitting in an upright frame member of the door and a bolt 12 arranged for sliding along the body. A handle 23 is accessible at one side of the body and is connected with the bolt by means providing some lost motion. A cylinder lock 27 is accessible at the same side of the door and can be set to obstruct movement of the handle. A further cylinder lock 31 is accessible at an opposite side of the body and is also associated with the bolt by means providing lost motion so that the bolt can be moved to its releasing position either by means of the handle or by operation of the cylinder lock at the opposite side of the body. <IMAGE>
