Abstract

209,920. Hopkins, N. M. Dec. 12, 1922. Dentifrices. -Two or more collapsable tubes or containers for tooth-pastes, cosmetics, &c. are located one within the other and provided with a single closure so that different compounds can be stored out of contact with one another and extruded together. The contents, for example, may be toothpaste ingredients, such as a paste containing barium peroxide and precipitated chalk, and another paste containing tartaric or other fruit acid; or the outer tube may contain precipitated chalk and castile soap, and the inner tube an upper layer of precipitated chalk, castile soap, and a phenol or other germicide, a middle layer of precipitated chalk, castile soap, and ipecacuanha or other pyorrhea specific, and a lower layer of Florentine orris, castile soap, and tincture of myrrh.
