Abstract

Screwing die-heads.-A diestock, of the type in which the dies have coacting surfaces sliding on each other, has the dies adjusted by a rotary ring, the rotating mechanism being disconnectible so as to release the dies quickly. The dies 3 slide on each other in a square recess 2 and are adjusted by a rotary ring 4 having teeth 5 which engage recesses between consecutive dies. The ring is rotated by a pin 10 which passes through a slot in the cap plate 12 and is engaged by a ring 13, mounted to rotate on the sleeve 19 and having hinged to it a handle 14 adapted to engage a nut 16 which may be adjusted by a screw 18. After cutting, the handle is disengaged from the nut and returned to its original position. An indicator and pointer give the correct adjusted position.
