Abstract

3799. Taylor, H. D. Feb. 15. Lenses.-In separated lens systems for microscopes or for photographic or projection purposes, two outer unequal negative lenses L<1>, L<6> enclose one or more positive lenses, the condition being that the sum of the powers of the positive lenses is approximately equal to that of the negative lenses. In the modification shown, there are f o u r positive lenses L<2>, L<3>, L<4>, L<5>, and the system is so designed that either half can be used separately to give a flat field and these halves can be put together with the lenses L<3>, L<4> outside to form another operative system.
