Abstract
9526. Ceechi, L. April 19. Bakers' ovens.-A system of air-circulating stay tubes is provided to prevent deformation. The oven has baking-chambers built of plates of a refractory material, and a system of flues which, as adapted to decker ovens, enables the superposed chambers to be equally heated. The oven shown in Fig. 1 consists of three baking-chambers set in two concentric casings 1, 2, between which heatinsulating material may be placed. The baking- chambers are separated from each other by flues 10, 10', and from the furnace 9 and the crown 19 by flues 8, 10<11> respectively. These flues are connected together by vertical flues 7, 11, 12 with dampers 14, 15, 16 for regulating the flow of gases, which pass into and from the flues 10, 10<1>, 10<11> through apertures 17. In single-deck ovens, only the two flues 11, and in two-deck ovens, only the flues 7, 11 are fitted, together with suitable dampers. The air-cooled stay tubes 6, Fig. 3, are arranged in the flue 8 or fire-place 9, and similar stays may be arranged in the baking-chambers or in the flues between them, The baking-chambers are built preferably of plates of a refractory material consisting of compressed cement and asbestos. The side plates, Fig. 8, are grooved, or grooves are formed by bolting strips and plates 20<c> to them, and the floor and ceiling plates 20<a> are placed in the grooves. The division and baffleplates in the flues are similarly constructed.
