Abstract

4701. Optische Anatalt C. P. Goerz, Akt.-Ges. Sept. 3, A.D. 1903, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Field glasses &c.-Fig. 2 shows a section of apparatus for effecting either the independent or the simultaneous focussing of binoculars. The eyepiece tubes a, b engage with nuts c, d fitted respectively with gear-wheels e, f. Adapted to rotate on a central stud p are sleeves n, o carrying respectively gear-wheels l, m. An idle gear-wheel h occurs between the wheels m, f, and a second one g between the wheels l, e. The sleeve n is fitted with a button q and the sleeve o with a button r. Either one or both of these buttons may be operated to effect the independent or simultaneous adjustment of the eyepieces.
