Abstract

198,865. Fuller, F. A. April 18, 1922. Clamping-devices; covers; attaching files to covers and supports.-A writing-pad holder combined with a frame for a calendar, card, picture or the like, and serving also as a paper-weight and a stamp or like compartment, comprises a back plate provided at one end with a pivoted spring- actuated jaw to hold the pad and a compartment for calendar cards &c. pivoted to the jaw. The device may be made from sheet metal, the clamping-jaw 13 for the pad carrying apertured ears 9 pivoted to apertured ears 4 on a curved bracket 5 removably held in slots in the base-plate 1. A spring 10 around a tube 11 carried by the pivot pins 12 actuates the jaw 13. The calendar &c. compartment comprises a back plate 14 pivoted at one end 25 to the jaw 13 and a coverplate 15 pivoted at one end 17 to the plate 14. A lug 30 stamped from the plate 14 engages the rear edge 8 of the jaw 13 to hold the calendar &c. in a raised position as shown. The cover 15 is apertured at 32 to expose calendar cards &c. 22, 32 through a celluloid or like sheet 33, and may carry advertisements. The cover has a fingerpiece 31 and is held in the closed position shown by a lug 20 on the plate 14. A compartment 35 for stamps or the like has sliding engagement with the back of the plate 14, projecting lugs on the plate 14 preventing complete withdrawal of the compartment 35 from the plate 14.
