Abstract
177,717. Pedersen, C. E. April 13, 1921. Closed solid - fuel stoves; heat-radiators.- A solid-fuel stove of the type having heat-radiating pipes with means for directing the combustion gases either through them or direct to the outlet comprises a closed chamber 1 in which is arranged a fire-grate, on either side of which are flues 2 through which the gases pass downwardly to an outlet 3 in the bottom of the chamber 1. Air-valves are arranged so that air may be supplied above and below the grate. In the stove shown, the gases pass into a chamber 4 at the base, and thence in parallel through two U-shaped heat-radiating pipes; or, by opening a valve D', a part or the whole of the gases may pass direct to the outlet and be used to heat a radiator in another room.
