1535782 Moulded electric components J A CRABTREE & CO Ltd 28 Jan 1976 [31 Jan 1975] 4280/75 Heading H2E [Also in Division F2] A moulded component, e.g. a moulded plastics electric plug cover or plug cover body, is provided with a channel within which is received a threaded member. The channel is provided, at least in that part of the channel which includes the desired location of the threaded member, with means which restrains movement of the threaded member along its longitudinal axis. Further, movement of the threaded member lengthwise of the channel is restrained from the desired location thereof. As described, movement out of the channel may be restrained by means of stepped channel walls (Figs. 1, 2, 8 and 9, not shown), by providing the walls with channels 4b<SP>1</SP>, or by means of inclined channel walls. The desired location may be defined by an end wall or stop and the channel may open into a cavity (10a) (Figs. 3-5, not shown) or into two cavities 10b. The threaded member is then provided with a tongue (20a), 20b for each cavity which tongue may either be deformed after or during entry into the cavity, or may be resiliently deformed before entry into the channel, which deformation is at least partially released upon entry into the cavity. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) the threaded member is provided with serrations which are directed to allow movement along the channel in one direction with relative ease, but restrains movement in the opposite direction. The channel may be similarly serrated if the threaded member is of nylon. The component may be of thermoplastics, e.g. nylon, or thermosetting plastics. The threaded member may be a nut of brass, or of resiliently and/or heat deformable plastics, e.g. nylon.
