Abstract

An expansible metal anchor usable with a range of panel thicknesses comprises an abutment portion 7 at one end, a screwthreaded portion 2 at the other end for receiving a bolt or screw 9, and an expansible portion 5 between the said portions which, when the anchor has been inserted into a hole in a wall or panel with the abutment portion engaging the wall or panel and a bolt or screw is screwed into the screwthreaded portion, expands outwardly to form a shoulder against the rear face of the wall or panel, characterized in that the expansible portion 5 of the anchor comprises a sleeve part 5a, adjacent to the screwthreaded portion 2, provided with two opposed longitudinal slots 4, and a part comprising two opposed strips 5b extending from respective opposed portions of the sleeve part 5a, the strips lying in a plane at right angles to a plane containing the slots 4. <IMAGE>
