Abstract

1528693 Voltage-multiplying rectifier construction SIEMENS AG 30 June 1976 [28 July 1975] 27152/76 Heading H2F [Also in Division B3] A capacitor and diode arrangement forming a voltage multiplier cascade comprises two layered capacitor blocks 1, 2, provided with Schoop layers 3, 4, and divided by slots through the Schoop layers to form a plurality of individual capacitors in each block, where each capacitor has its contact surfaces formed from respective ones of the Schoop layers, and a plurality of diodes 10 electrically connected via conducting supports 5, 6, to the capacitor contact surfaces. The diodes and capacitor blocks are all disposed in mutually parallel alignment. The capacitor contact surfaces contacted by the conducting supports may be at opposite ends of the arrangement, or at the same end of the arrangement, Fig. 3, not shown. The arrangement may be cast in sealing compound in a plastics container 24, the capacitor blocks being held by plastics ribs 26 and the assembly may be held by interengagement of the conducting supports with lugs on the inner wall of the container. The conducting supports may be formed from a lead frame stamped from a metal strip, the frame being cut off after connection of the components by welding or soldering.
