Abstract

1524061 Knockdown chairs A PARKER & CO (HIGH WYCOMBE) Ltd 5 Jan 1976 [22 Jan 1975] 2874/75 Headings A4H and A4J [Also in Division F2] A knockdown chair comprises side frames 1, 2 connected by front and rear seat rails 3, 4 and a backrest 5, the connection between each end of a seat rail 3 or 4 and its associated leg 7 or 8 comprising a tenon 15 on the rail and a mortise 16 in the leg and a threaded fastener 17 projecting from the rail to extend through a bore 18 in the leg and receive a locking nut 19. Fastener 17 is threadedly mounted in a transverse rod 24 in a recess 23 in the rail to adjust the amount of projection of the member 17. Each end of the backrest 5 is connected to the leg 8 by a peg 28 on the backrest 5 engaging in a recess 29 in the leg 8 and by a threaded fastener 17 and nut 19.
