Abstract
1518782 Processing silver halide materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 30 March 1977 [6 April 1976] 13498/77 Heading G2C An imagewise exposed silver halide photosensitive element is developed with a developer in the presence of at least one compound having recurring units represented by the Formula:- wherein A represents a divalent group; B represents a quatemary ammonium group; X represents an anion; m is 1 or 2; and n is an integer from 1 to 50. Specified for A are alkylene, aralykylene, arylene and polyoxyalkylene groups. B can represent a quatemary ammonium group selected from:- wherein B 1 represents a divalent group; R 1 , R2 and R3 which may be the same or different, each represents an alkyl group, which may be unsubstituted or which may be substituted with one or more of a hydroxy group or a phenyl group; Y represents a divalent group; Z represents a group of atoms necessary to form a 5- or 6- membered heterocyclic ring and a is 0 or 1; with the proviso that R 1 is absent when Z forms a heterocyclic aromatic ring. The compounds accelerate the development and increase the photographic sensitivity. They can be added to the processing solution or be incorporated in the photo-sensitive element or both.
