Abstract

1517341 Tin oxide coatings DAY SPECIALTIES CO Ltd 24 Dec 1975 [2 Jan 1975] 111/75 Heading C1A A solution consists solely of (a) a tin salt thermally decomposable to form a transparent O 2 deficient tin oxide coating on a substrate; (b) at least one dopant which is PCl 5 , SbCl 3 SbF 3 , InCl 3 , HF, AlCl 3 , GaCl 3 or BiCl 3 , in a quantity sufficient to reduce the surface resistivity of the tin oxide coating to less than 500 ohms per square and to increase the I.R. reflectance of the coating; and optionally (c) an organic reducing agent. The polar solvent may be water, or an ether, aldehyde, ketone, carboxylic acid, ester or alcohol. The tin salt may be SnCl 3 . The solution may be sprayed onto one or both sides of a glass sheet which is heated to 350-800‹C. The glass sheet may be tempered after application of the coating. The products are used as oven door windows.
