Abstract

1515312 Double glazing CUSTOM ROLLFORMING CO Ltd 21 May 1975 [21 Oct 1974] 45435/74 Heading E1R A spacer for double glazing is bent into tubular form from a metal strip, a lip 21 on one edge of the strip being located in a groove on the other edge 20 so as to allow air flow around the edges. The spacer is filled with desicant. The spacer is roll formed from a strip by first bending the edges and then bending the strip into a tubular shape the final rolling stages being effected with the spacer positioned on a mandrel. A corner piece (Figs. 5, 6) may be inserted into adjacent spacers, an extension (46) having a groove (47) receiving bent edge 20 and preventing spreading of the joint.
