Abstract

1513231 Tobacco pouches AKERLUND & RAUSING AB 8 Feb 1977 [16 Feb 1976] 05083/77 Heading A4G [Also in Division B2] A blank web from which blanks may be cut comprises a laminate of a heat-sealable material and a supporting sub-web, the sub-web having a plurality of longitudinally spaced and transversely extending slots covered by the heat-sealable material to provide the gaps of the blanks. The blanks are for the production of a tobacco pouch having front and rear walls heat-sealed together along side welds, the blank comprising a laminate as described above in which there are gaps in the sub-web corresponding in position to the side welds, whereby the blank can be folded to form the front and rear walls of the pouch and the side welds may be formed by heat-sealing together the heat-sealable material covering respective opposed gaps of gap portions. The sub-web may be of paper, plastics foil or aluminium foil. In the figure a blank is shown in which 3 is the closure flap and 1 the front wall. Areas 6 correspond to areas in which the sub-web has been punched out so that welds 4 may be made.
