Abstract

Viscosity-controlled pigment concentrates containing 10-49% by weight of a pigment 2-40% by weight of a polyolefin wax 20-85% by weight of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and 0.5-10% by weight of colloidal silica. These concentrates can be produced in the form of granules which are resistant to breakage and abrasion and are of easily controlled shape and size and which can be conveyed pneumatically and stored without problems. These concentrates are furthermore distinguished by a very wide range of possible uses, i.e. they are suitable for the colouring of a wide variety of plastics, especially of polyolefins, PVC, polystyrene copolymers, polyamides and thermoplastic polyesters.
