1509047 Rotary pocket wheels TOYO SEIKAN KAISHA Ltd 10 June 1975 [18 June 1974 22 April 1975 (3)] 25956/77 Divided out of 1509046 Heading B8A A device for passing a body in or out of a sealed chamber and comprising a rotor 44 with a pocket 44a rotatable so as to connect the pocket 44a either to an inlet end 42c or to an outlet end 42d of the device, is characterized by injecting passages 47a, 47b for injecting a sealing fluid, e.g. water, into a gap 46 between the rotor 44 and its housing 42 at an angle of less than 90 degrees to the surface of the rotor 44. The embodiment shows four injecting passages 47a, 47b all directed towards the outlet end 42d and spaced so that at any time no more than one is directed into the pocket 44.
