1508939 Cosmetics appliances OEKAMETALL OEHLHORN & KAHN KG 11 Oct 1976 [14 Oct 1975] 42113/76 Headings B8T B8D and B8P In a cosmetics appliance of the type provided with a withdrawable applicator 7, e.g. an eyeliner or macara pencil, a deformable sealing sleeve 17, which by engagement with the applicator prevents evaporation of the contents and has a wiper edge 19, is made captive between a flange 9 integral with bottle neck 3 and a locking collar 12, the latter deforming the flange 20 of sealing sleeve 17 into an annular groove 15 in neck flange 9. As shown, collar 12 is provided with a projection 14 to assist deformation and preferably the boundary 16 of groove 15 is serrated. Further sealing is provided by a ring 6 attached to closure cap 5. As a modification, more than one groove 15 may be provided, these each being, preferably, of lesser depth than the single groove which they replace. Container 1 may be of plastics or glass and locking collar 12 of plastics or metal.
