Abstract

1501831 Water heaters SMITDESIGN BV 6 Jan 1976 [7 Jan 1975] 354/76 Heading F4A In a coffee-making apparatus having a transparent water reservoir 6 supported on a hollow housing 5, a throughflow water heater 13 is provided within the hollow housing 5 such that water is supplied to the throughflow heater which has a relatively wide lower portion 15 provided with an immersion heater 18, 19 and a relatively narrow upper portion 16 extending upwardly through the reservoir 6 and connected to an outlet pipe 17 leading to a coffee filter 4. The portions 15 and 16 of the water heater 13 are made of transparent heat-resistant glass and a float switch 12 switches the immersion heater on and off depending on the water level in a float chamber 8. A thermal tripping fuse 27 is located in a tube 26 within the water heater 13.
