Abstract

1501462 Extracting liquids STORK AMSTERDAM BV 20 March 1975 11617/75 Heading A4C [Also in Division B1] A screw press (e.g. for extracting liquid from oil palm fruits) comprises a perforated cylindrical casing 24 provided on its inner surface with longitudinally extending strips 29 for counteracting rotation of material being pressed and an adjustable conical piece 25 for controlling the discharge of pressed material. Each strip has flat face 28 which is substantially perpendicular to the casing 24 and is directed opposite to the direction of rotation of the screw 21. The strips may taper as shown in Fig.2A or may be of a rectangular or square crosssection, Fig.2B (not shown).
