Abstract

1500835 Piles INST GOR DELA SIBIR OTDELENIA AKAD NAUK SSSR 23 Jan 1976 02594/76 Heading E1H A concrete pile is formed in situ by forming a bore hole of smaller diameter than the required pile, placing a reinforcement 3 in the bore hole, filling the bore hole with a concrete mix and then compacting the concrete by repeatedly passing a pneumatic mole 5 therethrough to enlarge the bore hole to the required diameter, thereby compacting the concrete and surrounding soil radially. The reinforcement may be a framework or reeled netting which is deformed transversely before placing in the borehole and is expanded by the compacting operation. The borehole is lined with concrete before placing the reinforcement.
