Abstract

1500223 Washing leather IRISH LEATHERS Ltd 13 May 1976 [17 May 1975] 19733/76 Heading DIL Leather is washed whilst being beaten with flails 9, 36 mounted on rotatable shafts 8, 36 [see Figs. 1 and 8 respectively]. The flails are of rubber or plastics with longitudinal or transverse ribs on the contact surface, of semi-circular, square or rectangular cross-section and of length 12-15 in. The leather may be supported either on a conveyor 10 [Fig. 1] whilst being beaten by contra-rotating flails 9 and sprayed at 7 or on a curved plate 40 of an otherwise conventional leather washing machine.
