Abstract
1438128 Electromagnetic relays; sealed contact units INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 18 Dec 1973 [11 Jan 1973] 58474/73 Heading H1N An electromagnetic relay in which two sealed contact units 1, 2 having a plane base plate comprising inner and outer portions 5, 4 and a magnetizable armature 7 are arranged with their bases facing one another, with an electromagnet 10, 11 between their inner portions 5, with a ferrite permanent magnet between their outer portions and with their magnetizable armatures 7 all in magnetic series sequence is also provided with a temperature compensating magnetic shunt 12 which bridges the two outer portions 4 and which is movable towards and away from the permanent magnet 9 by means of a bimetal part 13. Since the magnetic induction of the permanent magnet 9 decreases as the temperature increase this is compensated for in the relay described by arranging that the shunt 12 is moved away from the magnet 9 by the bimetal 13 under increasing temperature conditions and vice versa.
