Abstract

1438178 Roller arrangement for carding engine doffer COSROL Ltd 8 Feb 1974 [18 July 1973] 34207/73 Heading D1N The web doffing arrangment in a carding engine comprises a card clothed stripper roller 11 which cooperates with a doffer roller 10, a pair of plain crusher rollers 14, a further card covered stripper roller 15 and at least one plain surfaced control roller 16 followed by a condenser 17, the rollers being run at speeds which produce drafting between at least stripper 11 and crusher rollers 14. Rollers 11 and 15 are provided with cleaning brush rollers 19. The rollers are suitably chain driven the arrangement of which is described together with suitable draft ratios between all the rollers. The clothed rollers may employ fillet or wire clothing.
