Abstract

1350770 Carding machines JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd 20 Oct 1971 [10 Nov 1970] 53447/70 Heading D1N In a carding machine the main carding cylinder 15 is fed by first and second lickers-in 1 and 3, the second licker-in 3 having associated strippers 4 and workers 5 and being clothed with needle pins mounted in staves. The pins may be as claimed in claim 1 of Specification 1319598. Fibre is transferred to the main cylinder via a condensing roller 11 transfer rollers 18, 20 and 22 and Morell rollers 19 and 21. Suitable surface speeds of the rolls are given. The pins on the licker-in 3 may be lightly ground to enable close roller settings. (For Figure see next page)
