Abstract

1433209 Cups A P PRODUCTS Inc 9 Oct 1973 47140/73 Heading A4A [Also in Division A5-6] A detachable handle device for nursing bottles, cups, and like containers, comprises at least one flexible, inelastic strap, at least one handle affixed to said strap, and at least one elastic band adapted to be stretched between retaining members formed on each of the opposite ends of said strap, thereby releasably securing the device to said bottle. In the embodiment depicted, the device includes a pair of opposed handles 3, 4, a pair of straps 1, 2, and a pair of elastic bands 9. The handle device, excluding the elastic bands, may be integrally moulded of polyethylene or polypropylene. The retaining members comprise a hooked member 5 and a post 6 on opposite ends of each inelastic strap. The circumferential spacing between the handles 3, 4 is approximately equal to one half of the circumference of the container. In an alternative embodiment, a single wide strap may be used or, when two straps are used, they may be arranged in criss-cross fashion. Alternatively, the posts 6 may be replaced by further posts similar to the posts 5.
