Abstract

1432063 Concrete mixers G SCHWING 11 May 1973 [24 May 1972 22 Dec 1972] 22531/73 Heading B1C A concrete delivery unit for mixing and supplying concrete comprises a rotatable drum 4 having a filler opening and an outlet opening and mounted on a mobile frame 1 with the longitudinal axis of the drum oblique to that of the frame with the outlet opening above the level of the filler opening, feed means 16 being arranged at filler opening, a controllable closing device 12 arranged at the outlet opening and a unidirectional screw means within the drum for feeding concrete from the outlet to the inlet opening. The rotation of the drum is effected by a ring gear 5 from a motor 6, the drum being supported on a tyre 4' on the frame 1. Water supply means 14 is provided at the filler end of the drum and the closure device 12 at the outlet or discharge end is actuated by hydraulic means 11. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4 there is provided a concrete pump 110 beneath the discharge end of the drum to permit concrete to be pumped direct to its place of use. In Fig. 5 a collapsible arm assembly 117 is secured to the frame 103 and which carries a water supply pipe 118 connected to the pump 110 to enable concrete to be supplied to various storeys of multi-storey buildings.
