Abstract

1428190 Cabinets K A MACDONALD 9 Aug 1973 37722/73 Heading A4B A foldable cabinet comprises a front panel 10 with an access opening 22 closable by hinged doors 18, 20, integral hinge parts 32, 34, 36, 38, and a rearwardly open transverse groove 50 below the opening 22, side panels 12, 14 with integral hinge parts 72, 74 connected to the hinge parts of the front panel 10 so that the side panels may be folded to lie in overlying relationship over the front panel, the side panels having integral shoulders 71 substantially coplanar with the groove 50, and a shelf 16 having a leading edge 62 mounted in the groove 50, the shelf 16 having integral pivot pins 64 engaged in sockets 54 at the ends of the groove 50 and retained in the sockets 54 by the side panels, the shelf 16 being hinged on a horizontal axis defined by the pins 64 for movement between a horizontal operative position in which it rests on the shoulders 17 and an upwardly folded inoperative position. The panels may be of moulded plastics. In the folded condition of the cabinet a pin 69 on a door step 56 engages in an aperture 67 in the shelf 16.
