Abstract

1423770 Cutting and perforating sheets XEROX CORP 19 Dec 1973 [20 Dec 1972] 58920/73 Heading B8R [Also in Division B4] Apparatus for slitting or perforating sheets issuing from a zerographic printing-machine comprises a cutting implement 60, Figs. 2 and 3, mounted on a shaft 48 carrying upper feed rollers 51-54, co-operating with a backing roller 45 of resilient elastomeric material such as polyurethane mounted on a shaft 34 carrying also lower pinch rollers 40-43, the implement 60 comprising a cutting blade 69 and a perforating blade 68 mounted in face-to-face contact on separate eccentric mountings 65, so that by rotating a disc 71 to engage one of three slots therein with a axed pin 72, either one of the blades or neither is caused to protrude into the sheet path. The implement 60 is also adjustable axially to vary the lateral position of the cut.
