Abstract

1423545 Rotary positive-displacement machines ABEX CORP 22 May 1973 [22 May 1972] 24386/73 Heading F1F In an hydraulic sliding-vane pump ports 50 through which working fluid enters the radially inner ends 49 of slots 31 for the vanes 32 from annular suction channels 23, 24 as the vanes slide outwardly are extended in the direction of rotation of the rotor 28 by grooves 58, 59 so as to minimize cavitation. The slots 31, main suction ports 43, 44 and pressure ports 52 are in cheek plates 10, 19 abutting a cam-ring 14. Drain slots 60 extend between the ports 50 and a shaft-opening in each cheek plate. The vanes have grooves 67 in the side and outer edges and are pressed against the cam-ring by fluid in an annular chamber 71 and hollow piston-valve elements 72. Suction bores 33 may be formed in the cam-ring. Alternatively, the vanes may be single lipped, Fig. 8 (not shown).
