Abstract

1423391 Battery connector WARD & GOLDSTONE (AUTO & AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENT) Ltd 19 April 1974 [2 March 1973] 10273/73 Heading H2E A C-shaped connector, clamped to a cylindrical terminal of a battery by a nut 7 screwed on to square 9A shouldered bolt 6 passing through aligned holes in the wings of the C, carries a metal terminal sleeve 2 to connect to a high-current insulated lead 3, while one lowcurrent insulated spur lead 10 is taken from a terminal sleeve 9 attached to the end of bolt 6, and a second low-current insulated spur lead 15 carries a bent-tab terminal 13 traversed by the bolt and trapped between shoulder 9A and the wing of the C. Both spurs are protected by insulating sleeves such as 11. A protective moulded plastics cover 16 may be fitted, a sleeve part 17 being slipped over the terminal sleeve 2, while knock-out sections 19 are available at each side to pass spurs in one or both directions, and cap part 18 protects the clamp.
