Abstract

1422008 Latches I D N INVENTIONS & DEVELOPMENT OF NOVELTIES A.G. 5 April 1973 [18 April 1972] 15892/73 Heading E2A [Also in Division A4] A drawer unit comprises a drawer 1 mounted in a frame 2 and biassed by a spring 5 towards its open position and includes a catch mechanism 3, 4, 8 which releasably retains the drawer in the closed position and is released by an initial movement of the drawer in a direction away from the open position. The catch mechanism includes a projection 8 upstanding from a rear extension flange of the drawer and having a front face providing a detent which is detachably engaged by a U- shaped, pivoted lever biassed clockwise (as shown) by a tension spring. The drawer extension carries a pivoted cam 4 with an inclined rear face which lifts the lever 3 out of the detent when the drawer is initially moved rearwardly.
