Abstract

1418530 Tamper proof screws SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES 31 Dec 1973 [1 March 1973] 60243/73 Heading F2H [Also in Division F1] A tamper proof regulating screw for controlling the idler circuit of a carburettor, comprises a cap 13a, the interior of which is larger in crosssection than that of the enlarged screw head 9, and which has a resilient lip 14 which engages in a groove 15 in the head 9. The screw 6 is also provided with a tapered portion 10 which, in use, projects into a port 4 for adjustment purposes. Once the position of the screw is set, the cap 13a is placed in position to cover the screw head 9. The cap 13a may be provided with a finger 16 which engages in an opening 17 and hence prevents rotation of the cap 13a without breaking off the finger 16. Alternatively, the finger 16 may be absent, the cap then being freely rotatable relative to the screw. A helical spring 12 or a locking nut frictionally engages the screw 6 to prevent rotation of the screw 6 by mere rotation of the cap.
