Abstract
1418114 Position detector F GILARDINO 30 July 1973 [4 August 1972] 36171/73 Heading G1A The relative position of a grating or grid 5 is determined by the system shown wherein an objective lens directs radiation from a filament lamp 1 on to the grid 5 and produces a magnified image of such magnitude as to correspond in size to a scanning grid 6. The photo-sensitive counting elements 7 are then able to produce a signal output proportional to the relative displacement/movement of the grid 5.
