Abstract
1417030 Lactamimide derivatives RICHARDSON-MERRELL Inc 28 Nov 1973 [5 Jan 1973] 55211/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the Formula (I) wherein X is O or S; A represents a bond or a C 1-3 straight or branched alkylene chain; R is H C 1-4 alkyl, C 3-6 alkenyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl or phenyl, R<SP>1</SP> is H or C 1-4 alkyl, n is an integer of 3 to 11; and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof may be obtained by reacting a primary amine of the Formula V with either a lactim ether of Formula (IV) or a complex of a lactam of Formula (IX) with phosphorous oxychloride, phosgene, boron trifluoride etherate, dimethyl sulphate, hydrogen halide or a combination of two or more of such reagents. Pharmaceutical compositions, useful as hypoglycemic agents, comprise compounds of Formula I or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof together with a pharmaceutical carrier in forms suitable for oral or parenteral administration.
