Abstract
1416263 Valves KOEHRING CO 26 Jan 1973 [22 Feb 1972] 4146/73 Heading F2V A pressure regulator valve 25 for the control valve 8 of a fluid motor 5 comprises a bore with inlet 31, by-pass 30, feeder 32 and feedback 29 ports accommodating a spool 26 which is subject to the pressure in the port 32 at one side and to the pressure in the port 29 at the other, which spool is biased by a first spring 40 to the feed position when the port 29 is connected via valve 8 to the feeder port 32, and is biased in the opposite direction by the pressure at 38 when the port 29 is connected via valve 8 to exhaust 20 the force of the spring 40 being reduced in such a situation by a second spring 41 connected to the first spring by a piston 42. The piston is actuated by feedback pressure to disconnect the two springs so that the first spring acts with its full force on the spool. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the two springs act in series whereas in the embodiment of Fig. 4, the two springs act on opposite sides of the spool and the second spring 100 is put in and out of connection with the spool by a piston 101 which is subject to the pressure at the port 95.
