Abstract
1415094 Pneumatic tyre treads PNEUMATIQUES, CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE ET PLASTIQUES KLEBER COLOMBES 22 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 3273/73 Heading B7C A pneumatic tyre, e.g. for aircraft, has a tread comprising circumferential ribs 6 of substantially trapezium section separated by circumferential grooves 7 with radially outwardly divergent sides, the tops 8 of the ribs 6 being 3-6 cm. wide and the sides of the grooves 7 making an angle B of 30 to 45 degrees with the normal to the tread surface. The base of one or more of the grooves 7 may have a channel 14 formed therein which has a radial depth d 0À1-0À3 times the total depth E of the grooves and has, at least in its radially outer part, parallel (Fig. 6, not shown) or radially inwardly divergent sides Fig. 7. The tyre may have a carcass 3 with a reinforcement 4 or reinforcements on its crown, and there may be anti-cut 12 and reinforcing 13 layers in the tread band beneath the grooves 7.
