Abstract

1414113 Pipe couplings JOHNS-MANVILLE CORP 19 Jan 1974 02607/74 Heading F2G In an air duct, a tapering sheet metal spigot 44 has resilient punched up tabs 50 to form a snap engagement with the inner rim of ring 24. After coupling, the joint may be sealed with conventional ducting tape. In forming the duct, the ends of helical reinforcement 26, of wire or glass filaments, are secured in loops 28 and 30 and scrim cloth is secured by adhesive to members 24, 26 and 42. A layer 34 of glass fibre insulating material is placed over the scrim and covered with a sleeve 36 of vinyl material.
