Abstract

1408522 Removing waste material in industrial processes TEDA-LAB I ESKILSTUNA AB 26 April 1973 19848/73 Heading F4X An exhaust hood for rotary grinding material 2 of a grinding machine 1 consists of a stationary part 4 connected, e.g. to an exhaust conduit 7, and a part 3 which rotates with the grinding material 2. A labyrinth seal 8 interconnects the rotary and stationary parts of the hood, the rotary part 3 being worn away at the same time as the grinding material and being eventually replaced. The hood portion 3 is adapted to the shape of the grinding material and forms therewith a gap 10 through which the abrasive grit &c. generated in the grinding operation is exhausted via holes 9 in the cover portion 4 to the exhaust duct 7. The grinding material shown comprises a cap-shaped grinding wheel. Exhaust arrangements suitable for other shapes of grinding wheel are described (see Figs. 3, 4 and 5, not shown).
