1405967 N-alkyl acrylate/alkane diol dimethacrylate copolymers TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 23 Aug 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 39958/73 Addition to 1368729 Heading C3P [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] A cross-linked interpolymer of an n-alkyl acrylate mixture and an alkanediol dimethacrylate of a molecular weight between 3000 and 100,000 wherein the alkanediol dimethacrylate moiety has from 10 to 18 carbon atoms, the nalkyl has at least 18 carbon atoms and at least 70 wt. per cent of the n-alkyl in the mixture has from 20 to 24 carbon atoms consisting of between 2 and 65 wt. per cent C 20 alkyl, between 18 and 65 wt. per cent C 22 alkyl and between 8 and 35 wt. per cent C 24 alkyl, the weight ratio of the n-alkyl acrylate mixture moiety to the dimethacrylate moiety in the interpolymer being between 99À5 :0À5 and 95 : 5. In Example II a mixture of n-C 18 to n-C 30+ alkyl acrylates and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate are copolymerized using α,α<SP>1</SP>-azobisisobutyronitrile.
