Abstract

1404688 Copying LAMSON INDUSTRIES LTD 6 June 1973 [13 June 1972] 26920/73 Heading G2H A charge image produced (in the absence of an applied electric field) on an insulative endless belt 1 at the nip between a backing roll 2 and a roll 5 bearing an image of pressure transferable material is electrostatographically wet or dry developed, e.g. in a bath 10 of liquid-suspended toner, and the developed image is transferred to a web 12 at the nip between a roll 4 and a roll 13, belt 1 being cleaned by a wiper 15 (which also removes any residual charge) and subjected to further imaging. Developed image transfer is assisted by at least partial charge neutralization, which may be effected by friction between roll 4 and belt 1, as shown, or a potential difference between rolls 4 and 13 Fig. 2 (not shown). The image of pressure transferable material may be a pressure transferred typescript consisting of organic red pigment, oleic acid and microcrystalline wax.
