Abstract

1400159 Battery tester HAWKER SIDDELEY AVIATION Ltd 29 Nov 1973 [29 Aug 1972] 40092/72 Heading G1U A battery 11, Fig.1, tester of the type in which a constant current is drawn until the battery voltage falls to a pre-set level is characterized in that the magnitudes of the constant current and the pre-set voltage are selected simultaneously by gauged switch wipers 18, 24 respectively. Simultaneous selection of voltage and current allows the switch to be labelled by battery type, and a further wiper 30 causes a neon 32 to indicate for which type of battery the switch is set. The duration for which the current is drawn before the voltage falls sufficiently is measured by counting 26 pulses from a low frequency clock 27. The discharge current is maintained constant, and the battery voltage is monitored, by appropriate modules 16, 20.
