Abstract

1498171 Propellent compositions NITROCHEMIE GmbH 26 March 1964 [12 June 1963] 13025/64 Heading C1D A propellant having improved burning properties comprises nitrocellulose, at least one organic compound of a polyvalent metal, and a polyacetylene. Metal compounds specified are lead 2-ethyl hexoate, salicylate, m-cresolate, catecholate, anthranilate, phthalate, hydroxybenzoate, dibenzoylmethane, acetylacetonate, alizarinate, quinizarinate, and stearate, iron, manganese and cobalt salicylates, and iron, manganese and copper mcresolates; reference is made also to compounds of nickel, chromium and tin. The composition may also include a nitrated polyalcohol, for example nitroglycerine, and an oxygen carrier. In examples, additional ingredients are dibutyl phthalate, diethyldiphenyl urea, methyldiphenyl urea, magnesia, graphite, and candelilla wax.
