Abstract
1494080 Vehicle wheels FA STANDEN & SONS (ENGS) Ltd 21 Nov 1974 [5 Dec 1973] 56463/73 Heading B7C An adjustable track, single or twin rim wheel, for agricultural machinery, comprises a wheel body portion or disc 3 detachably mounted on a hub 1, and a wheel rim 4 or rim pair (4, 4a, Fig. 10, not shown) releasably secured to the disc by means of bolts 10 passing through slot means, in each of a number, e.g. six, of lugs provided on one of the rim or rim pair and disc and through selected ones of uniformly spaced bolt holes 9 in each of a number of complementary lugs 8 (or 8a) provided on the other of the rim or rim pair and disc. The arrangement is such that axial movement of the rim or rim pair relative to the disc, by a distance corresponding to the pitch of the bolt holes, can take place when the bolts are loosened, and without all the bolts being removed. As illustrated the slot means in each lug 6 comprises two slots 7 each of a length corresponding to that spanned by two bolt holes 9. The rim can be adjusted relative to the disc between the positions illustrated in Figs. 4 and 5, and further adjustment of the track can be achieved by reversing the disc on the hub so that the lugs are on the axially inner side of the disc (Figs. 7-9, not shown).
