Abstract

1488729 Sewing machine stand SINGER CO 17 June 1975 [24 Feb 1975] 25815/75 Heading DIG A sewing machine 4 hinged at 28 to a cut out 12 in a table 10 has the driving motor 23, which is connected by a belt drive 26 to the main shaft 19 of the machine, mounted on a bracket 22 (two, as disclosed), secured to the machine 4 and so disposed that the machine may be swung upwards into the dotted position without removing the belt. The brackets 22 are secured to a rear wall 13' of the machine bed 13. The motor's length/diameter ratio is greater than 3 to provide rapid acceleration and braking.
