Abstract

1487220 Container carriers WILLIAM THYNE Ltd 6 Feb 1975 [16 Feb 1974] 7160/74 Heading B8C A carrying pack 7 for a number of pressurized sachets 10, e.g. of beer, each of which has sideways projecting corners or ears 14, comprises a rectangular bottom panel 20 and two mutually upwardly convergent side panels 21, 22 rising from opposite edges of the bottom panel, the bottom panel 20 having apertures 40 to receive respective sachets inserted upwardly therethrough, and the side panels 21, 22 having an aperture 47 (48) transversely aligned with each bottom aperture 40 so that the ears 14 of a sachet 10 are received and supported by an opposed pair of apertures 47 (48). Each bottom aperture 40 extends slightly into the side panels, and has a pair of flaps 43 or two sets of three flaps (56) (Fig. 4, not shown) which partly enclose the upper part of each sachet. A top wall 25 may be formed by glued and overlapped extensions 23 (24) of the side panels 21, 22. Alternatively the side panels may meet at an apex, to give a triangular cross-section pack, hard grip apertures being provided in the side panels. An upwardly extending handle may be formed on the top wall of a trapezoidal section pack by one or two apertured flaps bent upwards from the or each extension 23, 24. The side panels may have tearable lines of weakness to facilitate removal of sachets. The pack may be of fibreboard or a stiff but foldable plastics sheet, e.g. polypropylene. The pack may extend beyond the last aperture at one end for a greater distance than at the other end so that a number of packs may be placed side by side in boustrophedon formation.
