Abstract

1486051 Retractive switches; switch contacts ETCO SWITCHING SYSTEM CO Ltd 19 June 1975 [12 May 1975] 19916/75 Heading H1N [Also in Division F2] A snap acting dished contact 1 is provided at its middle and on its periphery with dimples 2, 3 pointing in the opposite direction to that in which the dishing of the contact 1 points. In one embodiment, a keyswitch includes at least one contact disc 1 of stainless steel or phosphor bronze having three edge dimples 3 which rest on copper contacts 5 of a printed circuit board 6. The or each disc 1 is held in place by an apertured, insulating layer 8 and a flexible cover 9. When a key 11 is moved downwards, the central dimple 2 of the disc 1 engages a contact 7 on the board 6, the contact disc 1 snapping back to its original position when the key 11 is released. The dished contact may alternatively have a periphery comprising three straight edges interconnected by three arcuate edges (Fig. 4, not shown).
